"Pawsitive" Pet Lovers

I am very excited about this section! It will be in action very soon! Ruff! Meow! Chirp!

Do you have a pet or are you considering getting one? Do you need more information about pet ownership or are you sceptical about the prospect? If any of these apply to you then I'm glad you found us.

If you have a furry or feathered friend you know how much comfort they can provide especially if you live alone. I was also surprised at the health benefits pet relationships can deliver. Seniors with pets have 31% lower average blood pressure and 19% lower risk of heart attacks compared to non-pet owners.  Dog owners over 65 spend 22 more minutes a day walking and take 2,700 extra steps per day, all likely to improve health and conditioning.

There are also some downsides in having a pet. They can contribute to a fall and for those on a tight budget  may "eat" into available income needed for personal necessities with petfood as well as vet expenditures.

On this page you will find pet stories, sites for pet lovers, and ways to live safely with your pet.  I hope you will also consider sharing your pets with us through videos, photos, and "tales"  on the We Are Positive AGERs You Tube Channel and the upcoming REAL AGERs Podcast!

Have a "Pawsitive" AGER Day!
